Why We’re Launching Next Level Boxing

It started with a conversation — like most good ideas do.

The Canelo vs. Crawford fight is coming up, and as I was thinking about it, I had this moment: Canelo is my guy… but man, Bud is no joke. He could actually win this. That thought stuck with me. I sell sports cards, I follow sports, and I love boxing — so I figured, why not write a blog post about it?

Fast forward to my daughter’s birthday party. Noel — my buddy who has an amateur boxing background — was there. I told him about the idea of writing about boxing on my site. And without missing a beat, he took it a step further:

“Why not build a whole section dedicated to boxing?”

He told me he’d been looking to reconnect with local gyms and mentioned some of the up-and-coming talent in our area. He was fired up about using this platform to spotlight fighters, trainers, events, and bring attention to the boxing community here in the Snohomish County area. I said, why not? I have the site. I’m the boss. Let’s do it.

What Boxing Means to Me

Boxing has always been a part of my life. I grew up in L.A. in the '80s, and I remember entire neighborhoods in the barrio gathering around one TV — the one with the black box that would show the Julio César Chávez fights. He was a god to Mexican fight fans. As a kid, I didn’t want to be a firefighter or a superhero — I wanted to be Chávez.

That Meldrick Taylor fight? Legendary. And even though it hurt to see him convincingly lose to De La Hoya later, it taught me something: even legends have a shelf life. But the passion never left. Boxing isn’t just entertainment — it’s culture. It’s heart. It’s identity.

Noel’s Role

Noel brings a different perspective. He knows the technical side of the sport and is dialed in with what’s happening locally. He’s told me about some young fighters in the area that he believes have real potential. I believe him. There’s something happening up here — a wave of talent that hasn’t hit the mainstream yet. And Noel wants to help shine a light on it.

He’ll be writing about local gyms, trainers, fighters, and the gritty reality of what it takes to train in this sport. He’ll still give his take on big-name fights too, but expect his voice to bring depth — from footwork to fight IQ.

Let’s Build Something Together

This page isn’t about being experts or pretending we know everything. It’s about starting something for people who love boxing — whether you follow every undercard or just tune in for the main events. Whether you’re a pro, a fan, a trainer, or a fighter — this space is for you.

We’re just getting started, but we hope you’ll follow along. Bookmark the blog. Drop a comment. Message us with ideas or local events we should cover. And hey — if you love collectibles, check out the shop while you’re here.

Let’s talk boxing. Let’s take it to the next level.

Be sure to visit our new boxing page.
